Area of Effort 1.1: Diversity and Inclusion Efforts
- Action 1.1A: Explicitly state and publicly communicate evidence of your company's commitment to disability inclusion and universal design, recognising intersectionality.
- Action 1.1B: Support leaders to understand the value of disability inclusion and model inclusive practices.
- Action 1.1C: Set SMART targets specific to disability-inclusion and use evidence to shape future action.
- Action 1.1D: Support the development of employee-led disability networks and consult them in designing diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Action 1.1E: Identify and engage with disability partner organisations to collaboratively develop sustainable inclusion practices.
Area of Effort 1.2: Disability Policy
- Action 1.2A: Implement targeted recruitment of disabled people to enhance organisational understanding of inclusive recruitment practices.
- Action 1.2B: Develop and implement a confidential, transparent, and supportive Reasonable Accommodation Policy.
- Action 1.2C: Assign responsibility and accountability to staff members for coordination of supports for disabled staff.
- Action 1.2D: Ensure leave policies allow for disability related leave which is not related to sickness.
Area of Effort 1.3: General Policies and Procedures
- Action 1.3A: Review and update key policies to reflect importance of universal design and accessibility, including in the areas of IT, recruitment, and communications.
- Action 1.3B: Offer flexible working arrangements to accommodate the needs of disabled employees.
- Action 1.3C: Prohibit discrimination and promote respect for difference in HR procedures and company codes of conduct.
